Azerbaijani deputy PM inspects progress of work on Araz Corridor route PHOTO
Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Commission on Trade, Economic, and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Shahin Mustafayev, visited the central cities of East Azerbaijan Province — Tabriz and Julfa — as part of his visit to Iran, where he met with the province’s governor, Bahram Sarmast.
According to the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers’ press service, the meeting emphasised the province’s role in Azerbaijan-Iran relations and highlighted the importance of expanding trade and economic cooperation with Azerbaijan’s regions, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the visit to the province, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, together with Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Co-Chair of the State Commission from the Iranian side, Mehrdad Bazrpash, visited the Aghband–Kalaleh bridge and the Julfa–Kalaleh road located along the Araz Corridor route to review the progress of construction projects for the bridge and road expansion.
The visit also included discussions on opportunities for the planned Ordubad–Siahroud bridge and an inspection of the relevant site.
