Azerbaijani flag arsonist remains uncharged in Armenia

Designer Aram Nikolyan left the police station and was greeted with applause․

According to preliminary information, designer Aram Nikolyan has not been charged, Caliber.Az reports quoting Armenian media.

Earlier the Armenian media reported that Nikolyan has been taken to the police station of the Malatia-Sebastia district.

“Nikolyan was brought to the police station. According to preliminary data, criminal proceedings have been launched on the grounds of hooliganism,” Sputnik-Armenia reported citing lawyer Alexander Kochubayev’s message on the social network.

During the opening ceremony of the World Weightlifting Championships Nikolyan took the flag of Azerbaijan from the stage and set it on fire. Security Service officers immediately took him away and brought a new flag.
