Azerbaijani, Iranian diplomats hold talks

Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani received Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov on June 26.

"We had a useful and productive conversation with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov," Caliber.Az quotes the Iranian diplomat as saying on his X account.

The meeting details were not made public, but both sides confirmed a productive conversation.

The Islamic Republic of Iran recognized the independence of Azerbaijan on December 25, 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 12, 1992.
