Azerbaijan's MEDIA exposes deepfake video falsely attributing hostile remarks to top officials PHOTO
Azerbaijan Media Development Agency (MEDİA) has officially denounced a fabricated statement falsely attributed to Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov, which alleges an “aggressive policy” by Azerbaijan toward Russia.
The agency confirmed that this statement, widely circulated on social media, is a product of deepfake technology and does not reflect reality, Caliber.Az reports.
According to a statement, MEDİA condemned the dissemination of the manipulated video, describing it as a blatant attempt by certain actors to contaminate the information environment and deceive the public through artificial intelligence-driven forgery.
The agency further highlighted that a similarly falsified claim regarding Azerbaijan-Russia relations has also been spread under the name of Hikmet Hajiyev, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, underscoring a coordinated effort to distort facts and sow discord.
MEDİA urged the public to exercise caution and rely solely on verified information issued by official government sources and accredited national news agencies. The agency emphasized that authoritative updates concerning the country’s foreign policy and state positions are available exclusively through these legitimate channels, warning against the risks posed by misinformation and digital manipulation.
