Azerbaijani officials set sights on boosting trade, investment with Türkiye
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Türkiye, Rashad Mammadov and the country's Trade Representative in Türkiye, Tamerlan Taghiyev have discussed the current state of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The ambassador made a post on his X account, highlighting the meeting, Caliber.Az reports.
The meeting, held to assess the progress of bilateral ties, provided a platform for both officials to exchange views on new opportunities and prospects for further expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Ambassador Mammadov emphasized the importance of continuing to build on the strong foundations of the Azerbaijani-Turkish partnership and underscored the potential for greater economic collaboration in the future.
The sides expressed their commitment to exploring innovative avenues to enhance trade and investment between the two nations.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Türkiye amounted to $6.13 billion in 2024, with exports totaling $3.82 billion and imports reaching $2.31 billion.
To recall, Türkiye's Ministry of Trade has recently included Azerbaijan in its list of target countries for export in 2025.
Azerbaijan-Türkiye bilateral relations reached new heights, with the historic Shusha Declaration that has transformed these ties into an official alliance.
Numerous successful projects are underway between the nations, with nearly 4,000 Turkish companies operating in Azerbaijan. Turkish companies are playing a significant role alongside Azerbaijani businesses in the territories liberated from occupation.
