Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to attend farewell ceremony for Iran’s Ali Khamenei

A delegation led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan’s Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova is expected to attend a farewell ceremony in Tehran for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 4–5 at the Mosalla complex in Tehran, after which a funeral procession is expected to proceed to Qom, with final burial arrangements in Mashhad on July 9 in accordance with his will, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Recall that Sayyid Ali Khamenei was killed along with close family members during a joint US-Israeli attack on Tehran on February 28. He was subsequently succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
