Azerbaijani President, First Lady visit Aghdam district PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have visited the Aghdam district.

The head of state attended the inauguration of the 110/35/10 kV “Aghdam” junction substation owned by Azerenerji OJSC, Azertag reports.

President of Azerenerji OJSC Baba Rzayev informed the head of state about the substation.

The “Aghdam” junction substation was built by Azerenerji in the village of Shelli, Aghdam district. The substation will connect villages in the Aghdam district as well as Khojaly, Asgaran, Khojavand, Aghdara and Khankendi to the national power grid and serve as an alternate supply source. The micro SCADA system integrated into the substation is synchronized with Azerenerji’s central SCADA system.

The head of state launched the “Aghdam” junction substation.

As part of the visit, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended a ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone for the 5th residential complex in the city of Aghdam.

Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Emin Huseynov briefed the head of state and the First Lady on the construction project.

The residential complex, with a total area of 12 hectares, will feature 1,115 apartments comprised of 25 one-room, 314 two-room, 552 three-room and 224 four-room ones. The complex will adhere to the approved master plan of the city.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva watched a video showcasing the future appearance of the residential complex.

Further, the president and First Lady participated in a ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone for the 4th residential complex in the city of Aghdam.

The head of state and the First Lady were informed of the details of the construction project.

The residential complex, spanning a total area of 14 hectares, is designed to accommodate 1,080 apartments, including 36 one-room, 363 two-room, 484 three-room and 197 four-room ones.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva watched a video showcasing the future appearance of the residential complex.

The complex is planned to include sports fields, recreation areas, children's playgrounds, bike paths and parking lots.

The head of state laid the foundation stone for the fourth residential complex in the city of Aghdam.

In addition, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva examined the ongoing repair and restoration works at the Imarat Complex in the city of Aghdam.

The head of state and the First Lady were briefed about the progress of the reconstruction work.

The restoration work at the Imarat Complex commenced after complex restoration concept developed by foreign specialists was presented to the head of state. The concept envisions the complex including the Palace of Panah Ali Khan, tombs and Karabakh Horses Park with the Khan’s palace intended for use as an interactive museum.

The complex will cover an area of 3.3 hectares.

Funding for the restoration project will be provided by the Karabakh Revival Fund.

During the trip, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended a ground-breaking ceremony for the Central Park in the city of Aghdam.

The head of state and the First Lady were provided with details about the upcoming developments in the park.

The Aghdam city master plan outlines the creation of a park covering an expansive area of 5 hectares.

The Central Park is designed to feature four distinct zones including a city square, botanical garden, beach and forest. The comprehensive facilities within the park aim to accommodate various mass cultural events, offering amenities such as a water games zone, tea houses, recreational and catering facilities, cultural and training playgrounds, educational and wellness areas, as well as active games zones.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a foundation stone for the Aghdam city Central Park.

Then, the head of state and First Lady planted a tree in the territory of the Central Park.

Moreover, President Ilham Aliyev examined the ongoing works on the internal roads of the city of Aghdam.

Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Saleh Mammadov briefed the head of state on the progress of the construction progress.

As outlined in the General Plan of the city of Aghdam approved by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, the total length of internal roads in the city is 189.7 kilometers. The foundation stone for the internal road and communication network of the city was laid on October 4, 2022, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The city`s highway spans 17.5 kilometres, with a width of 55-60 meters and comprising 6-8 traffic lanes. Under the auspices of the First State Program on the Great Return, the construction of Aghdam`s internal roads is slated for completion by 2026.

Also, President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone for the village of Giyasli in the Aghdam district.

The head of state received detailed information about the village construction project, which has been designed in a modern style while preserving historical traditions.

The total area of the village is nearly 400 hectares. A total of 1,323 private houses are scheduled to be built for the relocation of 4,972 people. The initial phase will witness the construction of 656 private houses in an area of 145 hectares, providing housing for 2,546 people.

The village of Giyasli will feature essential amenities, including a 540-seat school, two kindergartens catering to 180 children, and other vital social facilities.

The head of state and First Lady participated in a ceremony marking the commissioning of the Khachinchay water reservoir in the Aghdam district, following its repair and restoration.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Reserves Agency Zaur Mikayilov briefed the head of state and the First Lady on the extensive work that had been carried out.

The repair included the restoration of the 7 km-long canal associated with the Khachinchay water reservoir, which boasts a capacity of 23 million cubic metres.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were presented with a video showcasing the various aspects of the restoration project.

Moreover, President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone for the village of Salahli Kangarli in the Aghdam district.

The head of state received detailed information about the village construction project, which has been designed in a modern style while preserving historical traditions.

The village spans an approximate area of 178 hectares, with plans to construct a total of 418 private houses, facilitating the relocation of 1,376 people. The initial phase will witness the construction of 150 private houses in an area of 99 hectares, providing housing for 850 people.

The village of Salahli Kangarli will feature essential amenities, including a 480-seat school, an 80-seat kindergarten, and other vital social facilities.

President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone for the village of Salahli Kangarli.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also attended the opening of the Barda-Aghdam highway.

The head of state was informed about the accomplished works.

The foundation stone for the Barda-Aghdam highway was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on May 28, 2021.

Stretching over 44.5 km from the city of Barda, the highway project included the construction of significant infrastructure elements, such as 91.3-meter and 18.2-meter motorway bridges, 66-meter and 43-meter road junctions, and three pedestrian overpasses.

The highway will traverse over 20 residential areas.

President Aliyev participated in a ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone for the village of Bash Garvand in the Aghdam district.

The head of state received comprehensive information about the village construction project, which has been designed in a modern style while preserving historical traditions.

The village spans a total area of 476 hectares, with plans to construct a total of 1,495 private houses, facilitating the relocation of 6,057 people. The initial phase will see the construction of 851 private houses, including 170 two-room, 425 three-room, 213 four-room and 43 five-room ones, in an area exceeding 202 hectares, providing housing for 851 people – 3,703 people.

President Ilham Aliyev watched a video highlighting the village construction project.

The village`s facilities will include a kindergarten, school, college buildings, collective recreation and educational facilities, an administrative building, club community centre, medical point, pharmacy, hotel, and a bazaar.
