Azerbaijani President signs order on conscription for military service
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the conscription of Azerbaijani citizens for urgent active military service from January 1 through January 30, 2023, and on the transfer of military personnel to the reserve.
Proceeding from paragraph 26 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with Articles 12.3 and 40.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On military duty and military service" and for the purpose of conscription, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan born in 2005 who are 18 years old by the day of conscription (including this day), as well as those born in 1988-2004, under the age of 35, those who have not completed active military service, who do not have the right to deferment from conscription for urgent active military service or who have not been exempted from conscription for urgent active military service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan should be called up for urgent active military service from January 1 through January 30, 2023, Caliber.Az reports citing the official presidential website.
The military personnel of fixed-term active military service who have completed the service period envisaged in Article 38.1.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Military Duty and Military Service" should be transferred to the reserve from January 1 through January 30, 2023.
The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers should take the measures envisaged by the legislation to implement this order.
