Baku, Ankara deepen talks on military production and technology photo
Officials from Baku and Ankara have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in the defence industry, with a focus on weapons production, military equipment, and the application of new technological solutions.
The talks took place during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Defence Industry Mehman Bakhishov and Turkish representatives — Deputy Chairman of the Defence Industry Committee İhsan Kaya and Chief Executive Officer of Makina ve Kimya Endüstri İlhami Keleş.
According to Caliber.Az, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence Industry, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the 19th Asian Defence Exhibition, DSA-2026, in Kuala Lumpur.
During the discussions, the sides also addressed the exchange of advanced expertise, the introduction of innovative approaches, and the strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation. Both parties emphasised the importance of improving existing cooperation mechanisms and underlined the need to continue efforts toward building a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership.
Separately, the Azersilah stand at DSA-2026 was visited by the Prince of Malaysia’s Kedah state, Sarafuddin Badlishah, Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of National Defence Musa Heybet, and Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Defence Adly Zahari. During the visit, they were presented with detailed information about defence products manufactured in Azerbaijan.
