Baku, Ashgabat to consider expanding Caspian collaboration
Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are set to discuss broader cooperation in energy, transport and logistics, as well as joint engagement in the Caspian region, according to remarks made at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
Meredov said upcoming bilateral contacts will focus on preparations for a state visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Azerbaijan. The visit is expected to elevate traditionally friendly relations between the two countries to a new level, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He added that particular emphasis in the high-level talks will be placed on expanding cooperation in energy, transport, logistics, and within trilateral frameworks in the Caspian Sea region.
Officials noted that the legal framework between the two countries already includes more than 120 agreements, while bilateral trade continues to show steady positive growth.
