Baku, Minsk discuss expansion of trade and economic ties
Belarus and Azerbaijan have discussed ways to deepen trade and economic cooperation during a meeting between Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
The two leaders noted the steady development of bilateral relations, stressing that their growing partnership is mutually beneficial and rooted in the close cooperation between the presidents of both countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Belarusian government press service.
The talks were held in Minsk on the sidelines of a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which gathered officials to review 19 agenda items. The discussions covered financial support for manufacturing and agriculture, the development of an integrated information system, transport infrastructure, and other areas of cooperation.
As presiding country of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in 2025, Belarus also outlined its strategic priorities. These include developing technological potential and cooperation, enhancing food security, completing the creation of a unified transport space, ensuring equal economic conditions, fostering a transparent and competitive market, and protecting the domestic market.
