Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway line set for full activation, Georgian PM confirms

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze has announced that the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway line will soon enter full operation, with all details of the project agreed.

Speaking on the development, the prime minister stated that all details regarding the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway had been agreed and that the new section would be launched in the near future, with Georgian Railways responsible for its operation, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.

He added that the project connects the Caspian Sea with the Black Sea, and therefore Europe with Asia, describing it as strategically important for regional cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
