Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Ali Alizadeh met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, Iranians Abroad, and Parliamentary Affairs Vahid Jalalzadeh to discuss key issues in bilateral relations between Baku and Tehran.

According to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran, the meeting, organized by the embassy, served as a platform for the two sides to exchange views on the current state of their relations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Additionally, on February 10, Baku marked Iran’s Bank Holiday with an official reception at the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, celebrating the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The event featured the national anthems of both Azerbaijan and Iran, setting a diplomatic tone that underscored the enduring friendship between the two nations.

During the reception, Seyyed Jafar Aghaei Marian, Chargé d'Affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, reflected on Iran’s progress over the past 46 years since the revolution. He highlighted significant achievements in various sectors and noted the country’s continued development.

Aghaei Marian also emphasized the strong cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, citing examples such as Iran’s support for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku and Azerbaijan’s election to the D8 group of developing countries.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev also addressed the gathering, expressing satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations. “There are promising prospects for expanding cooperation in numerous areas, including the economy, transport, trade, investment, energy, oil and gas, agriculture, and humanitarian sectors,” Mustafayev stated.
