Bangladeshi nationals detained in Armenia for Iran border attempt

A group of Bangladeshi citizens was detained in Armenia after attempting to illegally cross into Iran.

As Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media, the incident occurred recently when the group tried to cross the state border from Armenian territory into Iran. Armenian National Security Service (NSS) personnel intercepted and apprehended the individuals.

The Armenian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case in connection with the attempted illegal border crossing. Seven individuals have been arrested in relation to the incident.

Authorities noted that the arrested individuals had initially entered Armenia through legal channels. The motives behind their attempt to cross into Iran illegally remain unclear.
