Belarus says Ukraine concentrates 112,000-114,000 troops on border
Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin has said that Ukraine has concentrated a group of 112,000-114,000 military personnel on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
He also stressed that Belarus would not increase the number of military from its side, Kommersant reports.
"As of today - about 112,000-114,000 people is considered a grouping. Of them, a little more or less 17,000 are involved in the direct protection of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border," Khrenin said.
On February 15, Belarus imposed a counter-terrorist operation regime in Lelchitsy region on the border with Ukraine. The next day, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that saboteurs had been detained on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. According to him, the detainees wanted to commit sabotage in Russia and Belarus.
