Swiss parliamentary leader visits Ukraine to assess humanitarian projects
Swiss National Council President Maja Riniker visited Swiss-funded initiatives in Kharkiv on July 9, following high-level meetings in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk a day earlier.
During her visit, Riniker met with local authorities and observed Swiss-supported projects focused on humanitarian aid, mine clearance, and vocational training in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Swiss parliament's post on X.
“These meetings are very valuable to me in gaining a deeper understanding of Switzerland’s contribution and the living conditions on the ground,” Riniker said.

Switzerland has been actively involved in supporting Ukraine amid ongoing Russian aggression. In June, the country aligned with several measures under the European Union’s 17th package of sanctions against Russia. Additionally, Switzerland plans to initiate negotiations with the EU on defense procurement cooperation.
