Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has dispatched a delegation to Iran and Türkiye, led by Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

Sergeyenko arrived in Iran on a working visit at Lukashenko’s instruction, the state news agency BelTA reported.

At Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, the Belarusian delegation was received by Iran’s Deputy Parliament Speaker Hamidreza Hajji-Babai. During the visit, meetings are scheduled with the country’s leadership to discuss bilateral cooperation, the international agenda, strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, as well as the implementation of joint economic and humanitarian projects.

Sergeyenko is also expected to take part in a farewell ceremony for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which will be held in Tehran from July 3 to July 9.

En route to Iran, Sergeyenko held meetings in Istanbul with representatives of Türkiye’s parliament. The sides discussed the development of inter-parliamentary relations, the activation of friendship group contacts, and the expansion of cooperation across various areas.
