Belarus summons Armenian diplomat, issues protest over “unfriendly actions”

Belarus’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Armenia’s chargé d’affaires in Minsk, Artur Sargsyan, in a strong protest against what it described as recent “unfriendly actions” by Yerevan.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said the Armenian diplomat was handed an official note, Caliber.Az reports.

The ministry did not provide further details.

The move comes after Armenian parliament speaker Alen Simonyan recently accused Russia of attempting to carry out a political operation aimed at changing the leadership in Belarus, claiming the country is “controlled” by Russia.
