Blogger Roman Baghdasaryan on "Vardanyan Project" and pressure of special services "I can prove everything I'm saying"
Armenian blogger Roman Baghdasaryan was the next guest of the "Caucasus News" channel and its host Gela Vasadze. During the broadcast, they also talked about the "Ruben Vardanyan" project.
Thus, G. Vasadze asked Baghdasaryan about the "Vardanyan case". According to the Armenian blogger, first of all, it is necessary to understand who Ruben Vardanyan is.
"In order to understand what kind of person he is, I found people who have worked with him for years, who know him like the back of their hand. They told me clearly that Ruben Vardanyan is a man of pleasure, a hedonist. This is not a man who, with such a financial status, will go and sit in Karabakh - a place where such a mess is going on at the moment. Even the most courageous and patriotic person will think a million times about whether it is worth it to take on a dead-end job. Vardanyan was 100% expelled from Russia for the simple reason that he built his entire business in Russia. It is clear that this man worked with high-ranking officials in Russia who covered up his illegal deals. You can't do big business in the Russian Federation without Kremlin's or FSB's shield. If you sing songs for decades in someone else's country, you will also sing other songs - in Armenia or Karabakh - whether you want to or not. Whoever gave you instruction in the past or present may use it against you in the future. Including at the cost of your life if you don't behave yourself. I don't have to tell you how many high-ranking people in Russia, even those of Russian nationality, lost their lives together with their families. Mr. Vardanyan is smart enough to understand: a) he cannot say 'no'; b) it is impossible to run away from those who will find you anywhere in the world. And I can prove everything I say.
If you look at all of Vardanyan's interviews with Russian and Armenian media, you will discover a very interesting thing. If you study his facial expressions and gestures, you will find that he is not confident, smiling, and optimistic. On the contrary, he looks lost and confused. He has been in Karabakh for a month already, he has fired 9 'ministers' but so far it is all anger and scandals. I have never seen Vardanyan saying confidently that "despite all the problems I will revive Karabakh". By the way, the Lachin problem coincided with Vardanyan's 'appointment' for some strange reason," said Baghdasaryan.
He also responded to the question of whether Vardanyan might replace Pashinyan as Prime Minister of Armenia in the future.
"Nikol Pashinyan is not just a leader in the perception of Armenians in Armenia, they perceive him as a 'father' who can laugh with them and cry with them. You will not see Robert Kocharyan crying anywhere in Armenia. There is no such thing in nature. You won't see Serzh Sargsyan crying anywhere. And for the first time, the Armenian people saw that the leader of the country can cry and laugh with them. No matter how much money they invested in Ruben Vardanyan, no matter how much Russia did, I can assure you that people have changed during these four and a half years. And what has Vardanyan done in Karabakh during these four months? We still haven't heard from him about the road map of peace. Why not a single influential Armenian from Russia moved to Karabakh? Believe me, not a single friend of Vardanyan has moved from Russia to Karabakh. There is only empty talk," Baghdasaryan said.
The blogger also admitted that the "special services" of the Karabakh separatists are after him.
"They watch my every broadcast, try to hack all my e-mails, summon me for interrogations, pressurize me, threaten me, even opened a fake criminal case. A dictatorship has been established in Karabakh, and people there cannot criticize the 'authorities'. People write to me with fright, with fear. I write to them: guys, don't write me messages, because the National Security Service immediately detects them and breaks into their house. How many times have guys in Karabakh 'leaked' information to me and the next day employees of the local 'KGB' appeared in their houses," Baghdasaryan said.
