Bloomberg: Türkiye urges Arab states to avoid direct military involvement

Turkish diplomats are actively working to convince Arab countries targeted by Iran to refrain from direct military involvement in the conflict, according to people familiar with the matter.

To de-escalate the situation, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has visited Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar and held phone talks with leaders of other Middle Eastern countries, Bloomberg reports.

Ankara is concerned that engagement by Middle Eastern Arab states could escalate into a full-scale war, threatening the entire region. Turkish officials note rising tensions among Arab leadership, who are “losing patience” amid Iranian strikes.
