Bomb blast in southern Thailand injures six police officers, one civilian
On July 30, a roadside bomb exploded in Narathiwat province’s Sungai Padi district, injuring six police officers and one civilian.
The blast took place at around 8 am on a road in Ban Jue Rae, tambon Sako, Caliber.Az reports via Thai media.
The attack targeted a police motorcycle patrol assigned to protect local teachers.
Two police officers and a passing civilian were wounded by shrapnel, while four other officers suffered minor injuries, including chest tightness, ear ringing, and abrasions.
The seriously injured were identified as Police Senior Sergeant Majors Masaki Mamu and Jira Julani, along with resident Marodee Samae.
All were taken to Sungai Padi Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have attributed the attack to separatist insurgents.
Residents have been urged to avoid the area until it is declared safe and to report any suspicious activity to local authorities via the 1341 or 191 hotlines.
