Bosphorus Strait closed to ship traffic due to towed vessel

Ship traffic in both directions on Istanbul’s Bosphorus Strait has been temporarily suspended following the departure of a towed vessel from Haydarpasa Port.

According to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety (KEGM), the closure is in effect until the towed vessel completes its passage through the strait. Authorities have indicated that traffic will resume once the operation is safely concluded, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media. 

The Bosphorus, a crucial waterway connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, sees heavy maritime traffic, and such disruptions can impact shipping schedules and operations.
