British FM slams Georgian foreign agents law
12 May 2024 14:10
British Foreign Minister David Cameron has said that the foreign agents bill in Georgia restricts the activities of non-governmental organizations there.
"We actively support the Georgian people. We have made it clear that this bill is wrong. In fact, many countries around the world are passing similar laws, trying to restrict civil society and opposing any foreign non-governmental and charitable organizations they do not control," Cameron told Sky News in an interview.
He said it is a "worldwide problem" inherent in "authoritarian regimes".
