Brother of anti-Azerbaijan Russian official dies after being wounded in Ukraine
Alexander Milonov, the brother of Russian State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov, has died while serving in the war in Ukraine.
According to reports, Alexander Milonov volunteered in one of the intelligence units in Luhansk. After being wounded in action, he was transferred to a medical facility, but his condition rapidly deteriorated due to the injuries, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“However, the injuries led to a sharp deterioration in his health,” the statement said.
Vitaly Milonov, a member of the United Russia party, is known for his controversial conservative positions, including repeated provocative statements about Azerbaijan, support for Armenia during the Karabakh conflict, and opposition to migrants and Turkish people. In 2020, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry added him to its list of persona non grata.
