Brother of former Turkish foreign minister seriously injured in armed attack

An armed attack has been carried out in Türkiye against Aydın Çavuşoğlu, the brother of former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The incident took place at Aydın Çavuşoğlu’s office, where firearms were used, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

Aydın Çavuşoğlu, who was seriously injured, was taken to hospital and is currently receiving treatment in intensive care.

It was reported that Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu was abroad at the time of the incident, has been informed of the developments, and is expected to return to Türkiye.

A full investigation into the incident has been launched.
