Bundestag deputy calls for Ukraine to target Russian military sites with Western weapons
Markus Faber, a member of the Bundestag from the German Free Democratic Party (FDP), has made a provocative statement regarding Ukraine's military strategy and the use of Western-supplied weapons.
According to gazeta.ru, he suggested that Ukraine's allies should authorize the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) to target military installations across Russia using these Western-provided arms.
Faber's statement advocates for Ukraine's right to utilize military force against Russian targets, extending beyond the immediate conflict zone. He argued that once weapons are transferred to Ukraine, they become Ukrainian assets, thereby justifying their use in strikes on Russian territory.
However, Faber also emphasized the necessity for Ukrainian forces to abide by international humanitarian law, stressing the importance of avoiding actions that could be considered war crimes in their operations.
