Bus tips into sinkhole near mine in Kazakhstan, two people feared dead VIDEO
The Professional Militarized Emergency Rescue Service of Kazakhstan has said that the rescuers found the bodies of two dead passengers of the bus that fell into the sinkhole.
"We regret to inform you that the bodies of two passengers were found in the sand by the forces of rescuers of emergency services. Work is underway to take them from the sand," the statement by the service said, Spuntik Kazakhstan reports.
The bus has not yet been found.
A bus carrying four passengers fell into the formed crater near the mine of Maykain, Pavlodar region.
"The incident occurred on January 4 at about 01:25. Preliminary length of the collapse is 150-200 meters, width 500 meters, while depth of the collapse 150 meters," the statement by the regional emergency department said.
At the time of the collapse, there were four people on the bus: three rescuers from the Professional Militarized Emergency Rescue Service of the Pavlodar branch and the driver. The rescuers were on their way to the call, as there was a "popping" in the area of the quarry.
33 workers were evacuated from the mine, there is no threat to their lives and health.
