Canada, Mexico want to improve trade cooperation
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced their intention to make the free trade agreement between the three countries more transparent and efficient, as reported by Global News.
“We are both committed to our joint partnership with the United States and look forward to the upcoming revision of T-MEC, USMCA, CUSMA, different acronyms for the same thing, to find ways to make it more fair and effective,” Carney said at a press conference with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
The leaders of the two countries stated that it is necessary to coordinate efforts ahead of the upcoming review of the trilateral trade agreement with the United States.
The Canadian Prime Minister is in Mexico City on a two-day visit.
Mark Carney and Claudia Sheinbaum also announced a new action plan to improve bilateral trade in the areas of infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and healthcare.
