Canada opens embassy in Yerevan VIDEO

The Embassy of Canada has officially opened in Yerevan.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, who is on a visit to Yerevan, took part in the flag-raising ceremony at the embassy’s building, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The ceremony was also attended by the first Resident Ambassador of Canada to Armenia, Andrew Turner.

Previously, Canada maintained diplomatic relations with Armenia through the embassy in Moscow. There was also a Canadian consulate in Armenia, which provided a limited set of services for citizens of its country.

Earlier, the new Ambassador Turner had already presented credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachatryan.
