Car wash blaze engulfs truck, homes in Kazakhstan

A major fire has broken out at a car wash in Semey, Kazakhstan, spreading to a truck and two private residential houses, the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations stated.

The blaze erupted at a one-story car wash building on Sosnovaya Street in the city’s Severny district. A gas tank reportedly exploded before firefighters arrived at the scene, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.

The area affected by the fire has not yet been determined. No information on casualties has been reported so far.

Emergency crews have established a continuous water supply and deployed multiple firefighting hoses to contain the blaze. A dedicated command centre has also been established to coordinate firefighting operations.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said its personnel and equipment are operating under an elevated response level as efforts to contain the fire continue.
