Central Russia braces for abnormal cold

Meteorologists have issued an orange-level weather alert across nine regions of Central Russia due to expected extreme frost.
Forecasters warned that abnormally cold weather, with average daily temperatures 7–12 degrees below the climatic norm, is expected from January 30 to February 4 in the Tver, Ivanovo, Vladimir, Smolensk, Kaluga, Kostroma, Tula, Ryazan, and Yaroslavl regions, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
According to the Hydrometeorological Centre, the orange alert—signalling hazardous weather with potential for natural disasters and damage—will take effect at midnight on January 30 in all regions except Kaluga, where it will begin at midnight on January 31.
