Chinese foreign minister to visit Russia
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Russia from March 31 to April 2.
“At the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to Russia from March 31 to April 2,” the statement said, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that China-Russia relations are a relationship of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation entering a new era. He noted that under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, China and Russia adhere to the spirit of eternal good-neighborliness and friendship, comprehensive strategic interaction and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The two countries continue to deepen strategic interaction and expand practical cooperation in various fields, making significant contributions to promoting each other's development and revitalization and safeguarding the basic norms of international relations, he said.
Guo Jiakun said that during his visit, Wang Yi will meet with the Russian leadership and hold talks with Sergey Lavrov.
“The Chinese side is willing to use this visit as an opportunity to jointly realize with the Russian side the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and conduct in-depth communication on the development of bilateral relations in the next stage, international and regional issues of mutual interest,” he concluded.
