Chinese Qingdao, Baku trade turnover doubles, boosting economic ties
Last year, trade turnover between the Chinese city of Qingdao and Baku more than doubled, reaching 233 million yuan ($32.05 million).
Meng Weiwei, Director of the West Asia and Africa Affairs Department at the Qingdao Municipality Trade Bureau, highlighted this growth during a conference in Baku titled "Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Demonstration Zone - Promotion of Logistics and Trade in Azerbaijan," Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Meng emphasized that Qingdao, a city rich in maritime resources, hosts China's largest laboratory, Laoshan, among its twelve laboratories. She pointed out that this scientific infrastructure is crucial for strengthening relations between Qingdao and Baku. Additionally, Qingdao is actively expanding its real economy and developing various sectors, including green energy.
