Foreign Minister: Azerbaijan among Georgia's top five economic partners
Azerbaijan ranks among the top five largest economic partners of Georgia, according to Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
She made the statement today during a joint press conference in Baku with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“We also discussed the implementation of significant projects between Georgia and Azerbaijan. These are large-scale projects not only for our countries but for the region as a whole. Based on these projects, we can work on larger strategic initiatives,” Botchorishvili said.
She emphasized the importance of the underwater electrical cable project across the Black Sea, describing it as a crucial endeavour for both Georgia and Azerbaijan.
“Our cooperation in various formats is extremely important,” added the Georgian Foreign Minister.
Earlier, Botchorishvili has described her first official visit to Azerbaijan as an honour. Speaking at a briefing following her meeting with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Botchorishvili highlighted the significance of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
"It is an honour for me to make my first visit to Azerbaijan as Foreign Minister," she said during the briefing.
Emphasizing the importance of this bilateral relationship, the minister stated, "cooperation between the two countries opens up new opportunities in political and economic relations."
The meeting underscored the continued strengthening of ties between Georgia and Azerbaijan, focusing on both political and economic aspects of their collaboration.
