Azerbaijan, Latvia sign key memorandum to enhance tax cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikail Jabbarov, met with Latvia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Edgars Skuya, to explore avenues for enhancing economic collaboration.
Ministry of Economy’s press service told Caliber.Az that both sides underscored the significance of advancing bilateral economic ties and shared perspectives on uncovering new opportunities for cooperation.
During the meeting, a "Memorandum of Understanding on Exchange of Information and Assistance in Collection of Tax Claims" was signed between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy and Latvia's State Revenue Service.
This agreement aims to streamline information exchange between the two countries' tax authorities and foster experience-sharing in the field of taxation. Key focus areas include collaboration on tax debt recovery and efforts to combat tax evasion.
Minister Jabbarov highlighted that the memorandum's implementation would facilitate effective partnerships and strengthen information-sharing mechanisms between the tax agencies of Azerbaijan and Latvia.
Additionally, the discussions reiterated the importance of fostering bilateral economic relations and identifying fresh opportunities for joint initiatives.
