Azerbaijan explores economic cooperation with Harvard at Davos forum
Cooperation between the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and Harvard University discussed in Davos as part of World Economic Forum.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, shared a post on X regarding the forum currently taking place in Davos, Caliber.Az reports.
Jabbarov said that, "as part of the head of state’s participation in the Economic Forum in Davos, we, together with Presidential Assistant Shahmar Movsumov and Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan Israfil Mammadov, were pleased to meet once again with Ricardo Hausmann, Director of the Harvard's Growth Lab”.
“We discussed the productive collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Harvard University as part of COP29, the importance of research being conducted for developing a sustainable economy, as well as joint initiatives and future steps," Jabbarov noted.
The annual meeting in Davos, hosted by the World Economic Forum (WEF), serves as a high-profile platform where global political, business, and civil society leaders converge to address pressing global challenges. This year's theme, "Collaboration in the Intelligent Age," reflects a focus on fostering cooperation amidst rapid technological advancements and societal shifts.
The 2025 event highlights participation from nearly 3,000 influential figures, including:

350 governmental leaders, with 50 heads of state or government.

1,600 business leaders, including approximately 900 top CEOs.

Over 170 representatives from civil society and social sectors.
Prominent speakers on the opening day include leaders from China, Ukraine, and Germany, setting a tone of diverse geopolitical and economic engagement.
Founder Klaus Schwab emphasized the importance of cooperation and optimism despite prevailing global uncertainties, aiming for a sustainable and inclusive transition into the Intelligent Age.
