CIS heads of government to meet in Dushanbe this June, summit set for October
Dushanbe is set to be the focal point for two major events in the CIS calendar this year. The capital of Tajikistan will host the Council of Heads of Government meeting on June 5, followed by the highly anticipated CIS summit on October 10.
In a briefing for journalists after the CIS Foreign Ministers' Council meeting, Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin shared the exciting details, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"On June 5, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government will take place in Dushanbe. We expect that the prime ministers will sign an agreement initiated by our country on cooperation between the CIS member states in developing heavy machine engineering sectors," Muhriddin said.
Additionally, the CIS summit will take place on October 10, with the backing of Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon.
"We are confident that the decisions made at the Dushanbe summit will give a new impulse to the development of the Commonwealth and its further movement forward," Muhriddin added, highlighting the importance of the upcoming gatherings.
