Clashes erupt in Türkiye’s parliament over 2026 state budget VIDEO

Members of Türkiye’s Grand National Assembly clashed during a session discussing the 2026 state budget.
Before the vote, Mustafa Varank, a deputy from the Bursa Justice and Development Party, and Murat Emir, deputy chair of the opposition Republican People’s Party, engaged in a verbal argument, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
This escalated into a fight in front of the parliamentary podium, with other deputies joining in.
The 2026 budget law, which triggered the fight in Türkiye’s parliament, was approved by a majority vote following the discussions.The bill was passed in the Assembly’s plenary vote with 320 votes in favour and 249 against.
The heated budget debates concluded with the adoption of the 2026 budget.
