Container ship hit by “unknown projectile” off coast of Oman

A container ship was struck by an unidentified projectile approximately 25 nautical miles northeast of Oman, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations.

"UKMTO has received a report of an incident 25NM northeast of OMAN. A report of a Container Ship being hit by an unknown projectile, which caused damage to some of the containers, no fires or environmental impact reported. Authorities are investigating. Vessels are advised to report suspicious activity to UKMTO," the coordination centre said in an official statement.
