COP29 president praises Türkiye’s leadership in Zero Waste Initiative
Türkiye’s leadership in environmental sustainability is setting a global example, COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev said during the Zero Waste Forum held in Türkiye.
Speaking at the event, Babayev stressed the importance of international solidarity in building a “greener” and more sustainable world, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He highlighted Türkiye’s Zero Waste Movement as a model for other nations: “We are moving forward by following their example and guidance. The ‘Zero Waste Movement’ has already gained global recognition and has become a symbol of shared values for future generations.”
At the forum, Babayev reaffirmed the priorities of COP29, underlining the need for effective waste management and the reduction of emissions. “At COP29, we once again highlighted the importance of effective waste management and emission reduction,” he said, emphasising that global cooperation is crucial in achieving environmental goals.
