Court grants motion for arrest of former Armenian defence minister
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction upheld the request for the arrest of former Armenian Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan.
According to Caliber.Az with reference to NEWS.am, this was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It should be noted that a criminal prosecution has been initiated against former Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan, and a petition has been submitted for his arrest. According to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, Sargsyan, who held the post of defence minister in 2016-18, deliberately committed actions obviously beyond his authority in the allocation of apartments in the house 25/6 on Asratyan Street.
Vigen Sargsyan, in turn, called this a manifestation of political persecution and an obvious infringement on human rights.
He urged to publish a list of those who received apartments, noting the military path and merits of each, and a list of those whose rights, in the opinion of the prosecutor, were violated.
