The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, Talatbek Masadykov, has said the bloc is closely monitoring developments in the South Caucasus, pointing to positive momentum towards a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Masadykov noted “encouraging trends” towards the signing of a comprehensive interstate peace treaty between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
“We believe that the normalisation of Armenian–Azerbaijani relations is a reliable path to lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” he said at a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council in Moscow.
