CSTO mission visits Armenian region on border with Azerbaijan
The mission of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) led by Secretary General Stanislav Zas in Armenia, visited the area on the border with Azerbaijan on September 22.
Zas, as part of the work of the mission, visited the Armenian region of the Vayots Dzor region on the border with Azerbaijan, TASS quotes the CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov as saying. He met with the commanders of the units of the Armenian Armed Forces deployed there, as well as the representatives of local authorities.
The CSTO mission headed by the Secretary-General arrived in Armenia on September 20 in accordance with the decision of an extraordinary meeting of the organization's Collective Security Council. The mission is tasked to assess the current situation, prepare a report to the heads of the CSTO member states on the situation in the region and develop proposals for de-escalating tension in certain areas on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
