CSTO warns of escalating conflicts near its borders
Large-scale conflicts that risk further escalation are edging closer to the borders of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), according to the organisation’s Deputy Secretary-General and Special Representative for Peacekeeping, Taalatbek Masadykov.
Speaking at a CSTO event during the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, Masadykov highlighted ongoing instability in several regions, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“The situation in Afghanistan remains serious — threats from this territory have not been fully addressed. Instability continues across the Middle East, and a resolution to the conflict in Eastern Europe has yet to be found,” he said.
Masadykov also criticised Western countries for pursuing geopolitical gains through increasingly sophisticated methods, including hybrid warfare.
He warned that the growing use of modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, “significantly facilitates the creation and dissemination of false and provocative messages.”
