Czech Republic eyes long-term oil supplies from Kazakhstan, says PM
The Czech Republic is interested in long-term supplies of oil from Kazakhstan, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said, noting that his visit to Kazakhstan is intended as a starting point for elevating bilateral relations to a new level.
Babiš emphasised that Prague considered Kazakhstan a strategic partner, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.
“I am convinced that through joint efforts we can increase trade turnover between our countries. First of all, we would like to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector,” the PM stressed.
He added that the Czech Republic is “extremely interested in long-term oil supplies” and also views Kazakhstan as a key partner due to its status as one of the world’s largest uranium producers, given Prague’s strategy of developing nuclear energy.
