Armenia's new parliament to hold inaugural session on August 2

The first session of Armenia’s newly elected parliament will be held on August 2, Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan announced during a commission meeting.

“The first session of the new National Assembly of Armenia will convene on August 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.,” Hovakimyan said.

The CEC also officially approved the list of lawmakers elected to the new parliament.

The 105-seat legislature will be dominated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s ruling Civil Contract party, which secured 64 mandates, including three reserved for national minorities.

The Strong Armenia bloc, led by Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, won 29 seats, including one allocated under the national minority quota, while the Armenia bloc of former President Robert Kocharyan secured 12 mandates.
