Daughter of Armenian war criminal charged with judicial misconduct
In Armenia, Naira Grigoryan, daughter of the notorious war criminal and marauder Manvel Grigoryan, has been formally charged, according to reports from Armenian media cited by Caliber.Az.
The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia confirmed that the judicial system representative faces accusations of criminal misconduct.
“The judicial official is charged with abuse of official powers under Article 441 of the Armenian Criminal Code and for issuing an obviously unjust verdict, decision, or other judicial act under Article 482,” the Committee stated in response to media inquiries.
This development comes as Armenian courts move to confiscate assets belonging to relatives and close associates of Manvel Grigoryan, with the total value estimated at over $3 million.
Manvel Grigoryan, who commanded Armenian occupation forces during the First Karabakh War, was notorious for his extreme brutality toward Azerbaijani prisoners while leading the seizure of Jabrayil and Fuzuli.
Grigoryan had previously been detained but was released in January 2020 under a travel restriction for health reasons. He suffered from multiple serious illnesses, including cancer and diabetes, and passed away in November 2020.
