Deadly floods, landslides hit southern Türkiye as Hatay reports one fatality PHOTO
Heavy rainfall in Türkiye has triggered flooding and landslides, leaving one person dead in the southern province of Hatay.
A house located on a hillside collapsed onto a road, where rescue teams later recovered the body of one victim, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Emergency services, including medical teams, firefighters, police, and Türkiye’s disaster agency AFAD, were dispatched to the scene. Three people were rescued alive from the rubble.
In the district of Samandağ, a bridge on the Antakya–Samandağ highway also collapsed. Floodwaters submerged the ground floors of residential buildings, while overflow from a local river swept away several vehicles in the Huzurlu and Acılar neighbourhoods.
Emergency teams have launched cleanup and recovery operations, including efforts to repair the damaged bridge and manage flood-affected areas.
