Deadly landslide in Türkiye’s Rize: Rescue efforts underway VIDEO

A landslide in Çayeli, a district in Rize, Türkiye, has tragically claimed one life and left four others injured.

The incident occurred in the Eskipazar neighbourhood, where heavy rainfall triggered a landslide behind a six-storey apartment building, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

Emergency teams, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene following reports of the disaster. The ground floor of the building was inundated with soil, resulting in the death of one resident. Four others sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Evacuation efforts remain ongoing as emergency crews continue assisting other residents of the building.
