Death toll rises after Russian missile strikes on Ukraine's Pryluky PHOTO
The death toll from Russian missile strikes on the city of Pryluky in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region has risen to four, while the number of injured has increased to 30, regional authorities said.
Chernihiv Regional Military Administration head Viacheslav Chaus confirmed the updated casualty figures in a statement posted on Telegram.
“Four people were killed — two men, a woman, and a 15-year-old boy. Thirty people were injured. Enterprises, shopping centres, stores, pharmacies, educational institutions, apartments, and residential houses were damaged,” Chaus said.
According to the regional governor, Russian drones also targeted oil and gas infrastructure facilities in the Pryluky and Nizhyn districts.
In a separate incident on May 19, one person was injured in a Russian UAV strike on a recreation complex in the Baturyn community.
Authorities said the attack caused damage to the site and sparked a fire, which was later extinguished. A passenger vehicle was destroyed, while the injured individual received medical assistance at the scene.
Chaus also reported additional drone attacks across the region. In border villages of the Chernihiv district, UAV strikes triggered fires. In the city of Chernihiv, two passenger cars were damaged.
In the Koriukivka district, an FPV drone struck the territory of a forestry enterprise in the Snovsk area, damaging a communications facility. Meanwhile, in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, a former sawmill in a village belonging to the Semenivka community was damaged in a strike involving a Lancet drone, the governor added.
